DADDY LONG LEGS

"SUCH A DISPLAY OF COURAGE TO TACKLE ISSUES SUCH AS THESE IN A PERFORMANCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE."
THE SUNDAY HERALD

Three teenagers seek revenge on a lonely man by setting fire to his decrepit old shed. But as events suddenly spiral out of control, best friends Jamie, Tash and Nic are about to endure a night that will expose who they really are.

A harrowing, thought-provoking examination of teenage violence, fear and the human capacity for cruelty.

CREATIVE PROCESS BEHIND CREATING DADDY LONGLEGS

Daddy Long Legs was in development for a year and a half after it became apparent that this level of violence was both physically on the increase and in that of society’s consciousness.  To ensure authenticity within the performance, a duty of care to our actors and audiences alike, we sought advice during that period from various professionals in both script development and supporting our cast:

  • Charlotte Metcalf - Clinical Psychologist Multi systemic team.

  • Eugene Adam - The Playfield Institute

  • Kelly Almond - Youth Justice team, Fife Constabulary

  • Hazel Walker - Counsellor (during rehearsals)

  • Trisha Marwick - MSP
